SHELTER INVITE

In the Red

Subway Therapy

In the NYC Union Square subway station there is the most amazing public art installation created by the people and for the people. It promotes love over hate and an end to bigotry and racism. "Subway Therapy" is the brainstorm of Artist Mathew Chavez. Everyday since the election, over 2000 subway riders passing through the Union Square subway station have posted post-its to the same wall. At night, the post-its are taken down by Chavez and his crew so that the subway workers don't have to. The next morning it starts again. I stayed and watched while people put their feelings on the wall. Mine is bright pink and says "Be kind to each other" Hopefully the sentiment will last longer than a night.
